Rent a 2 Ton Mini Excavator: SANY SY16C

When you rent a 2 ton mini excavator from SANY of Tulsa, you’re getting the SANY SY16C, the smallest machine in our rental fleet at 4,023 lb with 7′ 9″ of dig depth. Its retractable undercarriage narrows to fit through backyard gates and side yards, then widens back out for stability once it starts digging.

It tows behind a pickup on a light trailer, so a crew can move it between residential jobs in the same day. Rubber tracks keep lawn and hardscape damage to a minimum on finished properties.

Best for: Landscaping, planting beds, drainage swales, backyard access, and small trenching jobs.

Rent a 3 Ton Mini Excavator: SANY SY26U

Choose the SANY SY26U when you need to rent a 3 ton mini excavator with zero tail swing. The counterweight stays inside the track width through the full rotation, which keeps the machine clear of walls, fences, and traffic while it digs on tight residential lots.

It weighs 6,085 lb with 9′ 3″ of dig depth, enough for most residential water, sewer, and electrical service line work. A standard dozer blade handles backfill and cleanup without a second machine.

Best for: Service lines, retaining wall footings, drainage, and residential trenching.

Rent a 4.2 Ton Mini Excavator: SANY SY35U Cab or Canopy

To rent a 4.2 ton mini excavator for footings and deeper utility trenches, go with the SANY SY35U. It digs to 10′ 2″ at 8,499 lb, with zero tail swing for work along foundations and property lines, and still fits on residential sites.

It comes in two versions. The SY35U Cab adds an enclosed, climate-controlled cab for summer heat and winter trenching, and the SY35U Canopy covers the same digging with an open canopy.

Best for: Footings for additions and shops, deeper utility trenching, and storm shelter excavation.

Mini Excavator Rentals for Landscaping

If you’re renting a mini excavator for a landscaping job, you’re probably working on a finished yard and trying not to tear up the grass. The SY16C and SY26U are the two we recommend. Both machines run on rubber tracks and have enough dig depth for planting beds, swales, and retaining wall footings.

Mini Excavator Rentals for Water and Sewer Lines

Running a new water or sewer line to a house means trenching from the street across the yard, usually past a fence, a driveway, and the foundation. For service line work, we usually rent out the SY26U or SY35U. Both machines have zero tail swing, so you can dig close to the house without the back end hitting the wall.

Mini Excavator Rentals for Backyard Access

On a lot of backyard jobs, the hardest part is getting the machine through the gate. The SY16C has a retractable undercarriage, so you can narrow the tracks to fit through the opening, then widen the tracks again for stability once you’re digging. You won’t have to pull any fence panels.

Mini Excavator Rentals for Footings and Additions

For a room addition, a detached garage, a deck, or a shop, the footings need to be dug to the right depth and width. We usually rent the SY26U or SY35U for footing work, with 9′ 3″ and 10′ 2″ of dig depth. When the foundation is done, the dozer blade on either machine handles the backfill and final grading.

Mini Excavator Rentals for Drainage Work

French drains, downspout lines, and yard swales mean digging long, shallow trenches across a finished lawn. The SY16C and SY26U are the right size for drainage work, small enough to fit between the house and the property line, with rubber tracks that go easy on the grass.

Mini Excavator Rentals for Storm Shelters

Putting in an in-ground storm shelter takes a clean hole deep enough to set the shelter below grade. We rent the SY35U for storm shelter jobs because the SY35U has 10′ 2″ of dig depth and the weight to dig through clay. If the install lands in the middle of summer or winter, the cab version keeps the operator comfortable.
