Crews can dig tight along a foundation wall, a fence line, or a lane of traffic without watching the back end. The SY16C has a retractable undercarriage that narrows to pass through backyard gates and widens again for stability once it’s digging. The SY18U and SY20C get through gates on extendable tracks that narrow to 3′ 3″ and widen to 4′ 5″, and a swing boom lets the arm dig right alongside a wall.
